SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Building software and have fun
I am currently a student studying in University of Massachusetts - Amherst, major in Computer Science. Over the last few years, I have been working as an intern or as a collaborator on multiple fields that I am interested in, dabbling in new technologies in AI, web, and software in general. Coding is something that I really love doing, besides chess, games, and reading as my hobbies. I hope I can use my skill to do things that are impactful to the society, and help build a better future.
P/s: to say my name (Hưng/hɯŋ), say the "u" like the "oo" sound in "too" but smile instead of rounding your lips. I will be very happy if you can say it right :D
Learned and created machine learning models for algorithmic trading systems.
Assist instruction for computer science courses including Information Retrieval, Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, and Data Structures.
Developed and maintained production healthcare websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Node.js, Docker, Jenkins, and AWS.
Developed medical software using C#, .NET and Python, creating new features while improving application performance.
Worked on workshops for both adults and children to discover makers activities and digital fabrication technologies.
Built an automated quantitative trading bot that combines live news sentiment, machine learning, and historical stock data to trade the VNIndex. Implemented secure JWT authentication and data pipelines for thousands of API calls.
Developed a full-stack web application that tracks daily outfits and recommends clothing using statistical analysis and supervised machine learning with user authentication.
Created a Chrome extension that automatically detects and skips YouTube advertisements and pop-ups with response times under 10 milliseconds.
Designed an interactive visualization of Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm featuring dynamic graph generation, visualization tools, and optimized pathfinding performance.
Collaborated on a 2D game built with Python and Pygame, implementing gameplay mechanics, UI components, and backend game logic as part of a development team.
Contributed to educational search engine projects and Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems combining inverted indexes, TF-IDF, Qwen, and Llama language models.
